Black Kindle is Still "Freakingly" Happy

I’m still so freaking happy!!!  Remember my post of “what’s more important?”  Well, people are still asking me what the hell I’m talking about.  There is so much misery surrounding us, unhappiness with their job, husband/wife, children, dates, and even a girl told me her “booty call” was lousy.  Well, crap, what the hell did you expect? You met the man at 9am in the morning, had lunch and dinner, then slept with him.  Damn, girl, couldn’t you at least wait the so-call three dates!  You, old mattress pad nut  (she’s a friend, so I can talk about her like that, but it doesn’t matter to me, I will tell people the truth, even when it hurts), crazy-ass-woman!!

Getting back to being happy and what’s more important.  Let the crap go!!! If you can’t change it, give it to GOD and let him take care of it.  You are blessed.  At least you have a job, hopefully it pays more than that crap minimum wage joke they call decent. You have a good husband/wife; let’s hope he/she is not a psycho nut case.  You have good friends (get rid of the crazy negative ones)  You have food, water, heat, air, etc.  And you got me to remind you how blessed you really are.  I hope I also make you laugh a little.  Go on, laugh!! You know you want too!!!

Smile a bit more, that’s it. Let’s see those semi-white teeth that cost you an arm and a leg.  Or in my case, you are missing a few, not in the front, mind you.  I don’t want to look like one of those “Deliverance bubba” goons who can’t talk.  I got those done last year and they look good, but my wisdom teeth were removed and now it has caused a few of my other teeth to shift.  So I’m building up my Dentist money to get them fixed.  Damn dentists are freaking expensive.  I can’t afford major work to have those teeth I see on magazines or TV.  It’s just ridiculous how expensive dental work is.  

Still it will take some time, but I’ll get there, I’ll get there. Dave Ramsey, I'm still on the plan, even thought it hurts like hell.

Sorry to say that I have been behind.  Reading, walking my dog, and posting my blog.  I hope I don't lose any of you, my favorite book lovers.  I'm coming back strong, just hang in there with me.  What's really happening is that I read a book about two months ago, "How Starbucks Saved My Life by Michael Gill - - How Starbucks Saved My Life"  and I really enjoyed it, but after I read it, it was hard to find another book to read.  You know how you read a great book and you don't won't it to end, but when it does, you need another awesome book to keep the momentum going and going.  Well, I got lost, real lost.  So I went back to the library and borrowed again WILL SCHWALBE - THE END OF YOUR LIFE BOOK CLUB - $11.99 - The End of Your Life Book Club.  Then I stopped and went back and finished, WENDY WELCH - THE LITTLE BOOKSTORE OF BIG STONE GAP: A MEMOIR OF FRIENDSHIP, COMMUNITY, AND THE UNCOMMON PLEASURE OF A GOOD BOOK.  That moved the needle a little and I did enjoy it. Will post my review everywhere when I complete my notes.  You don't won't to read a badly written review, I do enough damaged on my blog.  

It still was not enough, so I went back to the library.  Remember I'm on the Dave Ramsey Budget and I have to be gazelle about getting out of debt so that I can buy more books and take more book fair trips. I can't wait.  I am, though, able to buy lots of books for my Kindle.  Hey, that's why I created this blog.  I still shop at local book stores to keep them going, even if it's a little bit of money, every penny will help. So I found a few at the library that looked interesting.  Started one of them (I read 4 or 5 books at one time.  It keeps me very happy):  I hope it keeps you happy too and you take a few minutes to see if any of these books will move your needle around and around:

JANE KIRKPATRICK - THE DAUGHTER'S WALK: A NOVEL - $9.99 - - -  I'm the leader of my Church Book Club and I forgot what we were scheduled to read for August and picked this up instead.  So far this book is fascinating.  Two women walk from Spokane (I use to live there) to New York in the 18 century!  Do you think you could do it?  I also got this book because I got another job.  Well, I hope it pans out.  I am reading and posting reviews for Blogging for Books.  A website a friend told me to join.  My first book to review is a classic that I have loved:  FRANCINE RIVERS - REDEEMING LOVE - $9.99 - Redeeming Love: A Novel.  It was the biggest hit at my Church Book Group and we have been looking for another type like that since last year.  That's why I selected Jane Kirkpatrick's book.  I wanted that feeling again and so far, I'm finding it.

The Daughter's Walk: A Novel

A mother's tragedy, a daughter's desire and the 7000 mile journey that changed their lives. LIZA KLAUSSMANN - TIGERS IN RED WEATHER - $8.89 - - I don't know why I picked this book up.  I remember when I was home in DC last year, my daughter and I saw it.  She came down to visit me this past weekend and saw the book on the counter.  She tells me it's on her reading list.  Glad I got it.  My daughter and I usually read the same type of books. 



Nick and her cousin, Helena, have grown up sharing sultry summer heat, sun-bleached boat docks, and midnight gin parties on Martha's Vineyard in a glorious old family estate known as Tiger House. In the days following the end of the Second World War, the world seems to offer itself up, and the two women are on the cusp of their 'real lives': Helena is off to Hollywood and a new marriage, while Nick is heading for a reunion with her own young husband, Hughes, about to return from the war.

Got to get one in for Black History Year

When I read the back cover of Tigers in Red Weather and realized why I borrowed it was that it reminded me of DOROTHY WEST - THE WEDDING - $9.99 and it's movie with Halle Berry. She played the main character, Shelby Coles.

The Wedding: A Novel

Well I got to go now.  On my way to volunteer at another book sale with the Friends of the Charleston County Library.  You know what hat means I'm buy books and can since they will be used and cheap.  I just love my life.
